Consultancy, ResearchUAB „Strateginiai transporto sprendimai” (STS) was established in 2003 to provide professional consultancy to private as well as to public sector in Lithuania. STS specializes on: consultancy on transport infrastructure development; advisory services on preparations for using EU structural funds and related services; making market researches, investment projects and feasibility studies; road measurement and data acquisition services using ROMDAS modular system; market and management consulting services; environmental impact assesement. Our experience from co-operation with regional authorities, associated business structures, and companies which intend to raise EU funds shows that there is demand for the above services. Since 2003 STS prepared more thean 30 regional transport infrastructure development investment projects. Total budgets for these projects exceed 50 mln. EUR. In 2004 for our clients Project Selection Committee approved 3,2 mln. EUR (or 12% of total annual funds) financing from European Regional Development Fund for Prienai, Raseiniai, Panevezys, Pakruojis, Silale, and Anyksciai local transport infrastructure development projects. At the present time we focus on developing a concept for Tarva (a tool for estimation of traffic safety effects of road improvements) version for the local roads. However Tarva is done so, that we need to have some kind of a database to be able to make the evaluations. We cooperate with Technical Research Centre of Finland on this topic. Our turnover in 2004 was 172.000 EUR, and we achieved 133.000 EUR turnover in 2005.eSafety – Co-operative Systems for Road Transport Research in consistent accident causation analysis research to assess the potential impact and socio-economic cost/benefit, actions which will sustain the work of the eSafety Forum19; Support for international co-operation, training of professionals and users, dissemination and improvement of the participation by SMEs
