| The project includes fundamental researches into the history of Slovene art, from the late Middle Ages to the early 20th century, covering the fields of architecture, sculpture and painting. The selected thematic clusters (selected chapters on earlier and more recent architecture; Baroque sculpture in Slovenia; collecting, revising and publishing the sources relevant for Slovene art history; Baroque painting in Slovenia; Renaissance and Baroque architecture in the Vipava and the Soca valleys and the area of Gorizia) focus mainly on those spheres that have not yet been sufficiently investigated, and on the revision of the hitherto findings. The researches are based on the study of sources and literature, on field work (inspections and listing of artistic monuments, photodocumentation), and on comparisons with material from abroad. |
| Projekt zaobsega temeljne raziskave slovenske umetnostne preteklosti od srednjega veka do prvih desetletij našega stoletja na področju arhitekture, kiparstva in slikarstva. Z izbranimi tematskimi sklopi (Izbrana poglavja o starejši in novejši arhitekturi, Baročno kiparstvo na Slovenskem, Zbiranje, redigiranje in objava virov za umetnostno zgodovino Slovenije, Baročno slikarstvo na Slovenskem, Renesančna in baročna arhitektura na Vipavskem, Goriškem in v Posočju) se osredotoča zlasti na tista področja, ki niso zadovoljivo obdelana, in na revizijo dosedanjih dognanj. Raziskave temelje na preučevanju virov in literature, na terenskem delu (ogledi, popisi spomenikov, fotodokumentacija) in na komparacijah s tujim gradivom. |
